eTown in conversation with Loreena
September 20, 2018
Earlier this summer, Loreena sat down with one of the hosts of eTown, the U.S.-based non-profit, nationally-syndicated radio broadcast carried by more than 300 stations. They discussed her first exposure to Celtic music and the live recording of Nights From The Alhambra, among other topics. Loreena also performed four songs, including two from her highly-acclaimed new album Lost Souls. She was accompanied by long-time fellow musician Brian Hughes, performing ‘Spanish Guitars and Night Plazas’ and ‘A Hundred Wishes’, as well as two older pieces, ‘Greensleeves’ and ‘The Bonny Swans’. The session wrapped up with an ensemble version of ‘The Water is Wide,’ which she sang with American singer-songwriter Greg Laswell who was also featured in the segment. If you didn’t catch Loreena on eTown’s broadcast, you can still hear the conversation and the songs on the eTown website.
