It’s been a busy summer for Loreena. She travelled across Western Canada to various venues and folk festivals, performing in Stratford (where she lives), as well as in Winnipeg, Regina, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver. Her travels also took her to Seattle, where she performed at the Woodland Park Zoo and was happily introduced to a baby giraffe and given a chance to feed Frida the elephant. From there it was on to the Rocky Mountain Folk Festival in Lyons, Colorado. “I’ve always enjoyed playing at folk festivals,” said Loreena. “There’s an intimacy and grass-roots feeling about them and I deeply connect with that.”
