summertournewsletterimageOn Thursday, August 15 Loreena will take the stage at Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo as part of their much-anticipated annual summer concert series. It will be the 7th stop on her 8-city Summer Tour 2013, which kicks off August 7 in Stratford, Ontario and winds up August 16 in Lyons, Colorado.

The concert series, called BECU ZooTunes, are presented by Carter Subaru. They’re family-friendly and take place on the zoo grounds with festival-style seating on the lawn. Tickets for Loreena’s performance will be $33.50. Part of the proceeds from the zoo concerts help to support animal care, zoo maintenance and conservation programs for endangered species. Concert doors open at 5:00 p.m. and the show begins at 6.

“I’m looking forward to crossing the country this summer and to slipping across the border at the end of the tour to visit some of my American friends and supporters,” says Loreena. “I really enjoy these outdoor summer performances, which have a certain character and intimacy all their own.”

Loreena will be accompanied by Brian Hughes on guitars, Caroline Lavelle on the cello, Hugh Marsh on violin, Ben Grossman on the hurdy gurdy, Rick Lazar on percussion and Andrew Downing on bass.

Cities on the Summer Tour include Stratford, Winnipeg, Regina, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Seattle and Lyons.

Tickets for the general public go on sale at 8 AM PDT on April 26. Return to the Performances Page at that time.
